OUR HISTORY and FUTURE

One of New Zealand's longest running titles and now fully international, SeaSpray magazine was first published in December 1945. The title has achieved iconic status as generations of 'boaties' have grown up with this legendary publication.

Throughout the decades, SeaSpray has seen dramatic changes in the marine industry. Pivotal to these changes has been technology and lifestyle. We have moved with the times, often leading the way, adopting innovative change to meet the demands of our readers.

SeaSpray is now a high quality 'coffee table' publication that surpasses even some of the most lavish international publications. We utilise premium quality paper and matte laminate our covers. Each of our bi-monthly issues is a compelling read with articles and features that appeal to the lifestyles of our loyal readers.

Since the introduction of our fresh, opulent and sophisticated approach, SeaSpray has experienced treble-digit growth. Our audience anticipates both inspiration and entertainment.

While SeaSpray is sold internationally in selected and highly targeted retail outlets, it is primarily a subscription-based magazine.

We also have partnership programs with organisations in the airline, vehicle, boat building, finance/investment and beverage industries who utilise SeaSpray as part of their CRM strategy. Mailed directly to the key clientele of our partners, SeaSpray is integral to their 'loyalty' programs. We distribute copies to legal, chartered accountancy, dental and medical practices around the country, as well as charter companies and high end lodges and resorts.

SeaSpray gains valuable international distribution to members of SeaKeepers International and we are distributed to the global superyacht market through National Marine in the USA and Seal in Asia.

In our efforts to create a unique marketing opportunity for every advertiser, we maintain a maximum of 35% advertising space. This provides clean and uncluttered features. SeaSpray is a unique marine lifestyle publication that has no equal in the New Zealand marketplace. Globally we 'foot' it with the best the world has to offer. A product that meets the highest possible standard of quality, SeaSpray enjoys a 'pass on' or readership level the envy of our industry.

OUR READERSHIP

Over the years, SeaSpray has had readers from all walks of life.

Today, our readership fits classically into the Socio Economic Groups I and II – high average incomes, generally well above $200,000+.

Since the introduction of our fresh, opulent and more sophisticated approach, SeaSpray has experienced treble-digit growth. Our audience relies on us to provide them with informative articles. They anticipate both inspiration and entertainment.

Retail sales are conducted throughout New Zealand in selected outlets. In Australia, we concentrate our retail marketing in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. SeaSpray can now also be located in selected outlets in Singapore and Malaysia.

Loyalty or CRM partnerships in the airline, vehicle, boat building, finance/investment and beverage industries afford us unique readership amongst the who's who of the business world.

Boat Shows such as Sanctuary Cove, Sydney International, Monaco, Ft Lauderdale, Southampton and others remain high on our list of priorities. At times when major shows are running, our print-run increases to cope with the added demand of targeting a very serious marine audience.

AC Nielsen figures from 4 years ago gave us a readership of 6:1. Our 2006/2007 initiatives in relation to distribution have no doubt increased this - we estimate to at least 10:1.

We print a minimum 10,000 copies per issue.
